COVID-19 District Information

GENERAL INFORMATION:

* Governor Reynolds has extended cancelled classes until April 30, 2020.  Algona and Lu Verne CSD will be doing voluntary enrichment for our students during this time.  Here is a link to the letter we are sending out to our parents on April 3, 2020.  District COVID Letter - April 3

*The main office will be open from 10:00 am- 2:00 pm daily (as of March 19).  We would suggest before you come to call to make sure we are in the office. If you need to come to the building we ask that you please use hand sanitizer or wash your hands in our restroom before coming to the office.  If you are not feeling well or running a fever we ask that you do not come into the building. 

*We would like to thank Greg and Ally for working to thoroughly clean our building during this outbreak.  We will also be cleaning our outside playground equipment.

We will be providing meals to our families ans students on Monday, Wed and Friday.  We will be delivering 2 breakfast and 2 lunches for each person.  This can include adults in the household.  These meals are being offered free of charge to our families.  We will deliver these meals around the noon hour and this would also include families who live in our rural areas.

*If you currently have been receiving backpack buddies from our school and are in need or could use some more supplies, please contact the school office at 515-882-3357 and we will take the message and find a way to get these delivered to you.

*If your child has left something at school that is needed, please contact our office at 515-882-3357 and we will see about getting that item for you. We then can work out a time for you to pick it up. Remember this would be for something that absolutely need the next four weeks.

*We will be posting activities that you can do with your child or sites that will help keep your child's mind sharp during this break.  Check back often for that page.  The best thing you can do with your child is to have them read 20 minutes a day or you read to them 20 minutes a day.
