COVID and Student Attendance

With rising COVID numbers in our area, please remember the KCPH guidelines listed below. Also, based on recent advice from our legal counsel we will NOT be informing parents or the public if we have a case of COVID-19 in our building (based on our small size and the FERPA law).  We ask that you still inform us if your child has COVID so we can take adequate mitigation procedures in our building, buses, and classrooms.

  1. If your child has been diagnosed with COVID please contact the school immediately.  Your child will need to be quarantined for at least 10 days since the symptoms first appeared (please inform the school of when you feel the symptoms first appeared). Students MUST be fever (100.4) free for at least 24 hours (without the aid of fever reducing medicines) before returning to school.  Remember that loss of taste or smell may persist for weeks or months and that alone doesn’t mean the person has to stay home.

  2. If you live in a household where somebody has been diagnosed with COVID your child  DOES need to quarantine  for 10 days.  This can be shortened to 7 days if your child obtains a negative test on day 5,6 or 7 after your last exposure.  However if your child is vaccinated they DO NOT need to quarantine due to household exposure.
